I failed to reproduce this a second time, but this is what I did the first
time it occurred:

1. Networked 2p multiplayer with two clients (both running 1.12.0).
2. Side/client 2 quit the game (by closing the app).
3. I chose "replace with ai" on client 1 and immediately afterwards closed the
app (via the top-right X), at which point the assert happened.

I had been making moves and messing with Delay Shroud Updates in all sorts of
ways on both clients, which is probably relevant.
