Follow-up Comment #1, bug #23633 (project wesnoth):
The easiest method to (attempt to) reproduce this bug:
* Get an optimized -O3 build
* Make sure music is enabled
* Go into Multiplayer -> Host Networked Game from the title screen
* Return to the title screen by choosing Quit in the MP lobby
* Repeat at least 10 times
