Ok, I first wanted not to answer this query, because I consider my voice
not significant on gameplay changes, but apprently some people consider
my opinion to be important, so here we go...

> - Do we want to add several new factions to mainline?
so far most peoples said something going along the lines of "yes but not
in default era" sounds good to me... I don't know if we "need" new
faction, but I think we can "absorbe" new factions, IOW both our graphic
and MP balance teams are efficiant enough to be able to hold the extra
burden. Having a faster inclusion path for external art would be nice
though.

so, yes go for it...

> - Do we allow for temporary (large) regressions in unit balance in devel?
yes, definitely. I'll rationolize this whith two points
- - our balance team and SP devs have proved to be able to "get back on
their feet" quite well, so as long as these major change are spaced
enough to let them absorb them, It should be OK, the game should stay
playable
- - if we are afraid of breaking balance, there are all sorts of changes
that wont be possible,

> - Do we want major restructuring of the damage types, abilities, etc?
my first thought was that it would be too dificult to rebalance more or
less out of nothing, but after discussing with the MP devs, it seems not
to frighten them. so my main concern went away. Yes, we can do it.

I don't have a real opinion on whether or not whe should do it, but
there is one point I'd like to stress... we might need to rationalize
our damage type, but we should not add more damage types (from a pure
numerical point of view, I mean) because it will be too complicated for
players to remember all damage types.

> Furthermore I think we should discuss what kind of "Fantasy world" we

I like our current level... that is no "magical race" but all races with
some magic. so I'd rather go with something I'd describe as a high
fantasy low magic world. Lots of intelligent species, some with weird
abilities, but no "magic" so to speak.

that's it
