Here are some of my ideas for the announcement:
- I would prefer to replace "Internet." with something like "All over
the world.". This just sounds cooler.
- The text about the campaigns and mp-mode is by far too short. I
would imagine something more like this, though it can really be a lot
longer:
"The game includes a basic tutorial and four different and epic
campaigns. Each campaign has a unique plot and makes you the commander
of an army. The game allows you to directly dive into the history of
Wesnoth and makes you the one that decides if the folk of Wesnoth will
raise or fall.
For those that do not want to only play alone there even is a
multiplayer mode. In epic battles you can fight against others or the
ai. Games with up to 9 players are possible. You can even play in
teams and if you do not find an oponent on the crowded server, you can
play against the challenging ai."
- There should be a bit more about the really big amount of
usercampaigns and userearas on the campaign server. Though i do not
really know how to write it.
- Downloading the game should contain a bit more about the supported
platforms. Hey, not every system supports this many platforms.
- Don't forget to point to the FAQ. Many new users will have questions
and some of them could already be answerd in there.
That is all that comes into my mind looking at the announcement. Maybe
I got some more ideas lateron.
