In a new benchmark for turn based strategy games, gameplay in Battle
for Wesnoth has been finely balanced for a lasting challenge. The game
includes four campaigns against a tough computer opponent, providing over
120 hours of gameplay. Or match wits against other people on your local
network and over the Internet. The package includes a map editor and a
scriptable engine, so you can create campaigns and share them with others.

Choose from English or one of 17 translations, allowing more than
1400 million people to play the game in their native language. Or, if
you prefer, try the ultimate challenge and tackle the game in Latin.

June 2003. The 1.0 release not only includes code, scenarios, images
and music, but also embodies time, effort and talent from David and
dozens of contributors.
