You already know which little detail I would like to see added:
The "border hexes" (that are automatically calculated atm) should be 
userdefinable. This way Map creators would have
maximum control of their map, they could even make the outmost hex as "off 
terrain" so that some optics comparable to
what was used in 1.3.4 can be achieved (at least when combined with the 
"themeable" feature.

Beside this long standing nagging:
I like the current state, it looks okay and seems to work nicely. One bug left 
is that the off terrain is ToD colored
which looks rather strange on Hexcake. But it was a really good work so far,
