On Sunday 19th September
when going for his usual guard duties at a plaza on William Street, Andama
Adnan found a money pause on William Street. On checking the contents he found
six thousand two hundred shillings, library and identity card in the name of
Angucia a student of Uganda Christian University. With no other information on
how to contact the owner of the pause, Andama contacted the University who
timely provided him with the contacts for Angucia’s parents. Andama contacted
the parents who got in touch with him and he handed over to them Angucia’s
money pause including the six thousand two hundred shillings and other contents
of the pause intact.

Getting some money how small it
is on the street and make good of it to solve ones pressing financial
difficulties and throw away the pause is an obvious decision many people will
take. Taking the burden of using the little resources to call a busy university
and get information on a student among many thousands of students is not a
simple decision for a burdened mind to take and trace parents of the student and
ensure the lost and found property is returned to the owner with all the
contents intact is the amazing exemplary experience of our own to me.

If we could have some sort of
award periodically to recognise such exemplary practice or service in our
community, I would propose Andama Adnan for such exemplary sincerity.

Andama Adnan can be contacted on 0782109358.
