Thx Candia, This time there is tremendous recovery for regional traditional schools, going by the press; Nabumali, Jinja College, Mwiri,Layibi, Ntare, sacred Heart-Gulu.....etc.
Westnile is therefore challenged to; identify on one by one basis, factors impeding this move and tackle them.I think we can build on this. Alot of homework has to be done in the area of family economic power( something to sell to keep each family ecomically afloat); Why? Each family is now financially stretched, parents used to pay tuition up to A-level and sit back, but now this line of responsibility is longer-upto University and thereafter. Each family needs to work harder to shoulder this commitment. And, also bring back family and societal discipline in our young ones; not beating but preaching self respect and discipline, surely this is getting down. And many more. Our leaders, political, religous, elders, peers will have to sensitise the masses. i.e Articulate impact of Government policy on Westnilers and how they can prepare themselves positively and many more areas. Lets be pragmtic in our efforts. e.g We demanded tarmacked road, we got it and no one can doubt the impact of this on our economic progress. We need more; Electricity, Educ revival, Agric. revival,Air transport, Forestry revival, etc.Westnile can Identify her Key success Factors and realise them...we need to move to new/ better levels. regards, Gilbert ________________________________ From: aliti candia <[email protected]> To: A Virtual Network for friends of West Nile <[email protected]> Sent: Fri, 11 March, 2011 9:17:36 Subject: [WestNileNet] A ELEVEL RESULTS-WEST NILE SCHOOLS. Dear friends, I have read in the news papers the performance of our schools in West Nile in the 2010 A level exams. It is painful but we should not lose hope. A school like St. Joseph's college-Ombaci having only one A and 3 Bs is not encouraging. May be the news papers were not accurate. Mvara results were encouraging though according to the papers. Any friend who can update us with an accurate A level results of schools in the west nile will help to enlighten us. Am sure we have friends either in MoES,MTN,NEW VISION or UNEB who can extract for us this information. Please post a summary on the network for friends to have comments on. Am aware it is not all about A s and Bs in exams, but we need the results for purposes of trend analysis and getting a way forward/plan actions. Warm regards.
