Dear Friends,

I would like to respond to the mail of Mr. Aliti Tom about the A level Results
as follows:

Much as we saw on the papers that St. Josephs College Ombaci produced 1 A and #
Bs, this was the result of the best studend in the School, NOT the Performance
of the entire School perse.

However, I would like to agree with Tom that the results are really very
appauling. We, individually and collectively, need to put our heads together to
adress the problem of poor performance in our Schools. The biggest challenge is
that those who are supposed to adress these issues i.e The District leadership
including myself,  have resorted to taking their children to Kampala schools
and
hence have less interest in the schools in the region. Ladies and Gentlmen,
Friends, CAN WE PUT EDUCATION ON THE AGENDA FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR DISTRICT?

Alfred Oyo
Arua.

Subject: [WestNileNet] A ELEVEL RESULTS-WEST NILE SCHOOLS.

Dear friends,
I have read in the news papers the performance of our schools in West Nile in
the 2010 A level exams. It is painful but we should not lose hope.
A school like  St. Joseph's college-Ombaci having only one A and 3 Bs is not
encouraging. May be the news papers were not accurate. Mvara results were
encouraging though according to the papers.
Any friend who can update us with an accurate  A level results of schools in
the
west nile will help to enlighten us. Am sure we have friends either in
MoES,MTN,NEW VISION or UNEB who can extract for us this information.
Please post a summary on the network for friends to have comments on. Am aware
it is not all about A s and Bs in exams, but we need the results  for purposes
of trend analysis and getting a way forward/plan actions.
 Warm regards.
