I was just thinking, what if you mirror (with directory creation for
hostname and original directory) a site:

- with both a http and ftp server,

- which do happen to have a corresponding directory structure in http
and ftp (note: I mean the same directory structure replicated in the ftp
and http server, not two different servers pointing at the same
directories),

- wich do happen do have in the same place (e.g.
http:/somewhere/somedir/file and ftp://somewhere/somedir/file) two
_different_ files ?

I suppose wget would overwrite the first one with the second... not a
nice thing.
Also, even if there are no duplicated file entries, the "http" files and
the "ftp" directories and files would mix... not a nice thing.

Unfortunately the only thing to correct this would be an option for a
rather ugly option, save everything as
site-ftp/dir/file
site-http/dir/file

or possibly site/ftp/dir/file which is even worse if you think url
rewriting for relative multi-site browsing.
