The current 1.7 sources seem pretty stable at this point. This makes
me think about a release.
The only major project I had in mind was the implementation of a
queue-based retrieval, but I think I'll postpone that for 1.8.
Version 1.7 is just too stable and contains just too many niceties to
postpone it much longer.
Stuff on my personal todo list for 1.7 are:
* integrate cookie support;
* go through the patch list and either apply the patch or postpone it
for 1.8.
* improve some minor things, including VERY_LONG_TYPE, compilation on
Solaris cc, and ansi2knr support.
I believe these things will be done by mid to late April. Then we can
proclaim feature freeze, whip up a pre-release version, gather input
from the translator, fix the remaining bugs and release 1.7.
1.6.1 can be either released independently or dropped altogether, if
1.7 proves sufficiently stable.
Dan, what do you think about this release plan?
