I have seen comments to that effect too.

But when I access the site from the web, the application is not running
and still doesn't show as doing any polling.

I only bring up the application to make map designs and test issues.

Unless something has changed in Rev 6.02 (I've got it, not happy with
it, still 
using rev 5), you can't reliably run WUG as a GUI app and as a service
at the 
same time.  Maybe someone at IPSwitch can comment, but I believe it was 
mentioned in this mailing list and I believe it might be in the WUG
knowledge 
base.
