Hi People,
We want to monitor our global network via the WUG software. It's just a
quick win.
Has anyone experience with more then one Whats Up Gold monitor server, or
alternatively what would be the ideal configuration to monitor global
resources.
Our point of view is that we want to install 3 WUG servers. One for each
region (APA,US, Europe).
Thanks for the replies.
have some fun,

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Custom Services
I'm running WUG 6.02 and I recently installed the NT Service monitoring plug
in. It seems to work quite well with default NT services, but I've been
having trouble with a custom service.
Our developers created a PERL application and a corresponding service which
I was monitoring using this plugin. After I saved the changes and restarted
the WhatsUP service, the plugin indicated that the service was down. I
checked the box and the services were fine. I also checked that map in WUG
and it also stated that the services were down. Later the services actually
did fail and the map showed the correct state. When I restarted the custom
services, the map indicated up by a got a page a few minutes later
indicating they had failed again.
Anybody else had this problem where the console shows UP even though a page
has been sent? Anybody had success monitoring a custom NT service?
Thanks,
Strahan McCarten
