Hello, How do I monitor the inbound and outbound utilization of a T-1 Internet connection and be alerted when it exceeds a certain percent?
Yes, it seemed like a simple goal at first, but despite the manual, archives, and much trial/error; I've not found a clear solution. I'm using WUG 7 on Win2K Pro. Routers being monitored are Cisco 2500 series (2501 I think). In anticipation of your answers, please consider: I've been working with ifInNUcastPkts, ifInOctets, ifInUcastPkts, etc. Which of those OID's are meaningful? Is there an OID for percent utilization of a link? I've seen mention of MRTG, but I'd like to stick with one tool (WUG) if possible. If MRTG is my best option, how can it be integrated with WUG 7? I don't mind setting up MRTG to supply info to WUG for WUG to act on, but I don't want to toggle between multiple tools (or worse, manage multiple paging/notification features of separate programs!) It seems this should be easy to accomplish with WUG. What am I missing? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
