found it and that works very well. I would still like for it to
acknowledge the alarm after the host comes back up, but this is an improvement
over the current setup.

I posted a topview.asp page I modified that seems to provide the audible alarm only when the device is down.
I kept my modified Topview from Rev 7 when I updated to rev 7.01.

If a device on any of the maps goes done, for example misses 1 ping, the alert goes off every 30 seconds on the website until acknowledged. This would be fine, but if I'm away from my desk when the device goes down, if it comes backup up in the meantime (meaning it missed one and only one ping), I have to search through all the maps to find out which one has the acknowledge link.
Is there any way to have the alert acknowledge if the device comes back up? I know this wasn't the case with 7.0.
