I have 7.02 installed and now I can't use the modifications you had suggested for topview.asp (problem started with 7.01).

When I acknowledge an alarm on the top map, it doesn't stay acknowledged (if the device stays down).  Even if I acknowledge it on the child map (the map the device is on), the alarm is still preset when the map refreshes.  Also, when the map refreshes, I get the acknowledge button back.

I loaded up rev 7.02 and it exhibits the same problem under my modified Topview page that 7.01 did.  Here's the bug:

A device goes down in a map and stays down,  It gets acknowledged.
Another device goes down and up in the same map that has the down device, and you get the alarms on the topview screen, which require acknowledgement to shut up.

A device goes down then back up in a map, no other devices down in that map are down, you only get the audible alarm for the duration that the device is down.

It may be that the fix they have in place for less sensitive alarm in rev 7.02 works with the asp pages that came with 7.01.

When I installed 7.02 it didn't seem to overwrite my topview page, which was something that happened (& was forewarned in the 7.01 install).

I found it and that works very well.  I would still like for it to acknowledge the alarm after the host comes back up, but this is an improvement over the current setup.

Search through the archive, look for "drew" with the re:[Whatsup forum]File date thread.

I posted a topview.asp page I modified that seems to provide the audible alarm only when the device is down.
I kept my modified Topview from Rev 7 when I updated to rev 7.01.

We have updated our 7.0 system to 7.01 SP1.  We access the What's Up program only from the web interface (it runs as a service on a Windows NT Workstation system).  If a device on any of the maps goes done, for example misses 1 ping, the alert goes off every 30 seconds on the website until acknowledged.  This would be fine, but if I'm away from my desk when the device goes down, if it comes backup up in the meantime (meaning it missed one and only one ping), I have to search through all the maps to find out which one has the acknowledge link.
Is there any way to have the alert acknowledge if the device comes back up?  I know this wasn't the case with 7.0.
