Hey Laurent,
If you are using
v7.01 or 7.02, you can do the following:
- First backup your
map (copy your wup file to a backup location) - omit this
step at your own
peril.
- Add your 2 custom
services to *one* of the devices.
- Do a File | Export
| INI | MyMap.ini
- Use your favorite
ASCII editor to open MyMap.ini
Search for the
custom service you have added to that one device - in order
to understand and
get an example of the necessary syntax.
- Add these two
service definition lines to the end of all the other devices in the file (you
can do this
by hand, or craft a
macro, batch file, awk script, fancy search and replace, etc,
etc,
whatever suits you
and your tools). Save your updated ini file.
- Return to WhatsUp
Gold, and with the original map loaded do
a File | Import |
INI | MyMap.ini on it.
- Pick any random
device and look at the services.
To include your
custom service in the list of services you can discover
in the new map
wizard (which includes host file import) edit your
services.ini file
and add the line
UseInDiscovery=true
to the definition of
your custom service. The next time you do a
discovery you will
see your custom service with the other services
that can be used in
the discovery wizard.
It may be easier to
do this and rediscover your devices/services than
a mass search and
replace over an exported ini file.
hope this
helps
Adrian.
