Is there any way that you can add the name of a monitored custom NT service to a notification email.  I currenty receive a WUG notification each morning advising me the number and names of down devices.  I am being told that 30 + services are down, but the down services are not actually named.  When I investigate the device reportedly having a down service - there is no down service at all.   Appreciate the advice.  By the way am running WUG 7.02   Gary Swanton -----Original Message----- From: Adrian Ferrier [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, 22 March 2002 2:06 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [WhatsUp Forum] Add 2 Custom Services to 150+ hosts. Hey Laurent,   If you are using v7.01 or 7.02, you can do the following:   - First backup your map (copy your wup file to a backup location) - omit this step at your own peril. - Add your 2 custom services to *one* of the devices. - Do a File | Export | INI | MyMap.ini - Use your favorite ASCII editor to open MyMap.ini Search for the custom service you have added to that one device - in order to understand and get an example of the necessary syntax. - Add these two service definition lines to the end of all the other devices in the file (you can do this by hand, or craft a macro, batch file, awk script, fancy search and replace, etc, etc, whatever suits you and your tools).  Save your updated ini file. - Return to WhatsUp Gold, and with the original map loaded do a File | Import | INI | MyMap.ini on it. - Pick any random device and look at the services.   To include your custom service in the list of services you can discover in the new map wizard (which includes host file import) edit your services.ini file and add the line UseInDiscovery=true to the definition of your custom service.  The next time you do a discovery you will see your custom service with the other services that can be used in the discovery wizard.
