We get the same problem. Although it happens on our subnets that have
problems (only certain ones).

And it turns out that the maps poll at different times so the subnet polled
and a device was down then came back up, while your main map hasn't polled
yet to pickup the new condition of the subnet. this happened quite often if
we have a separate poll interval on the subnets.

This happens to us We have a map for our email servers and when the activity
gets high one of the slower servers to take longer than 5 sec to respond. so
it is shown as down then comes back up and it just takes the "main" map
longer to pickup the changes.
