Derek, There are a couple of ways you can try this. The first is to recompile your mib.bin using the perf2mib.exe utility from Microsoft. Is believe that you can find the info on that on your exchange 5.5 CD. You can set up a custom SNMP service for the MTA queue oid and this will work. The other thing you can try is looking at the package provided at http://www.wtcs.org/snmp4tpc/ . Thanks to Garth Williams, some of the mysteries of SNMP on win32 are demystified. Make sure you use his mib to find the OIDs because they can tend to be different than the ones you might find elsewhere,
I hope this helps.

Has anyone been able to successfully monitor an Exchange 5.5 servers MTA queue using SNMP? ALL I want is an alert generated when the queue's gets above say 20 messages (for example).
SNMP is installed & working on all PC's & I can drill down & see the MTA queue in the SNMP explorer but the values always read 0.
any help appreciated.
thanks. ============================================================================== |
