you'll want to be taking action soon, preferably before the next self test or a power outage.

there are a few different mibs that can be looked at depending on what you really want to know.
There is upsBasicBatteryStatus - with 3 variables, unknown, normal or low
upsBasicOutputStatus -which tells you the current state of the UPS
I would suggest printing out the powernet.mib and picking the one(s) that fit your needs

- Not wanting to dig into the MIB, what exactly does this mean?
- does it mean if the value is = 2 then the UPS in on 'line' power, and any other value means that the UPS is on 'Battery' Power?
- As you can tell, I want a way to monitor whether the powere supplying the UPS is ON or OFF.

Re: [WhatsUp Forum] Monitoring options for APC UPS
- Hi!
- First of all you must have a network card for you APC UPS ;)
- Then you can monitor ICMP (is the UPS still alive) and a lot of SNMP
- values.
- We monitor:
- BatteryNeededReplacement 1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.2.2.4.0 (UP if =1)
- BatteryStatus 1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.2.1.1.0 (UP if =2)
- InputVoltage 1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.3.2.1.0 (between 210 and 250 volts is
- ok)
- There are additional values to monitor, for ex. internal temperature, look
- in APC MIB base
- (SNMP MIB base is included into your APC CD or is available from www.)

- Greetings and salutations!
- I am new to the realm of What's Up Gold monitoring. We are just in the
- early stages of development for the monitoring of all our servers and ups'.
- My question is, what monitoring options via WUG are available to me for an
- APC smart UPS? Thank you in advance.
