Hi Richard,

Thanx for making your batch files available to fellow wuggers, do you also have the vbs script that they both call?

Regards

Hi,

I have a similar method, I started out with a VBS written by Bernard Hoffman, and modified it for my own use. I could never be bothered with getting SNMP disk data with NT4, even though some people have managed to work it???

I have one VBS for running weekly, which just emails a list of drives and usage, and another which is scheduled to run every 15 minutes, and only emails if low drive space found. Just give the batch file an email address, and a server UNC or other drive path, and that's it.

The VBS will expect MS SMTP to send email.

I had actually tried that too, but wound up with installation problems with the SNMP4W2K package. I had submitted a trouble report but never heard back from them. Although it would have been nice to monitor disk space via SNMP, we figured that it was not worth the effort of using this third-party solution to enhance a third party solution. The caveats in the article about some of the issues were disheartening as well...particularly concerning RAID.

Anyway, a few lines of script does the trick for us.
