Title: Monitoring Cisco router ERRORS
Jeff,

Using an SNMP Threshold monitor seems like what you want.  It lets you choose the OID to monitor, and the value to use as a threshold.  The trick would be to either clear your counters, or increase the threshold after every "event" to keep the monitor valid.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Monitoring Cisco router ERRORS

Hi All,

Is anyone out there monitoring Cisco router errors?  We have over 100 routers, if one goes down the alarm goes off, no problem.  If one gets errors on its port (from AT&T) but doesn't actually go down, the different counters increment on the router but traffic isn't affected enough to stop a ping.  This means the router stays "up" to WhatsUp Gold, but the location starts slowing down and the more sensitive applications drop connections.

Is there any way in WhatsUp or any other application to sound an alarm or something when a router sees interfaces errors like this?

Thanks,
Jeff B
