The countdown timer stops at whatever number it was on when the menu closes. I also noticed that the clock in the bottom right hand corner stops when the polling starts, and then starts up again at the current time when polling stops. I have totally removed WUG from the system. Deleted registry keys and then re-installed from different source files and it is still doing it. When I click the green checkmark, it polls the device, but doesn't change the countdown timer. I've tried toggling the master switch a couple of times with no change. I'd like to find out why, but I'm getting to the point of chalking it up to an older server that has had a lot of apps on it. Thanks again,

Is that number the same as the poll interval for the map? If it says 'Stop', does the little clock in the tool bar area have a light gray background or dark gray (matching the color of the tool bar)? If it is light gray, try clicking the clock and you should see the countime time start decrementing again. (The state of that button does not survive a close/open of WUG for me, so I don't see how/why it would for you, but...) If it is counting down, does it reach zero? If it does, then you might try opening the debug log and see if that generates any text. If it does, then the log may tell us more. How about sending at least the first and last dozen lines? If it is modest in size, send it all. There is a green checkmark in the tool bar. What happens when you click that (no menu open)? It should start a single poll. If it does, what number shows up in the countdown timer? I was going to suggest a re-install, but I see you already did that. Just out of curiosity, what is the source you use for the install? Maybe it is corrupted? You could try an eval version and see if that works and if it does, install your purchased version and see what happens. If that fails, then there may be a corrupted file....contact Ipswitch, if you need a new copy of the source. Sorry, never seen or heard of this symptom before (without it being the master switch), so some of the above are just guesses, trying to eliminate some possibilities... Oh, just for grins, you might try toggling the master switch and then toggle it back to see if that has any effect at all. If the 'Enable Status Polling....' is not enabled, that could be your problem! Polling stops unless I have one of the pull down menus open. i.e. Click on 'Tools'. Polling also does not take place when WUG is run as a service. I have un-installed/re-installed the software, re-created the maps, etc. Very frustrating. Thanks for your help. Chris Ohm Systems Administrator American Specialty Health Inc.
