Subject: re: [WhatsUp Forum] 8.01 Patch released

Once again, I'll ask, what is the consensus on this upgrade? I'm still
operating with version 8.0. I have no interest in doing a complete
re-installation right now. I've got other fish to fry. I guess I'll have
to weigh the benefits of what's in the upgrade vs the risk of failure and
re-install.

I finally loaded 8.01 (release 2003.05.21), plus the hotfix on a
system. WhatsUpG.exe still has (or now has) a problem with memory.
When runnig as a service everything works fine.
When you stop the service and try to start as an application it hangs and
the memory consumption
climbs up to 20 MB. Then it stops working.
When you start whithout loading any map it seems working. But after you try
to open a new map it crashes.

After deinstallation and a new install it seems to work.
After one day running, it's memory usage is just over 20MB and it crashes
like described.

System Specs:
Compaq Proliant 5000, PIII 200MHz, 256MB ram, running Win 2K, SP 3,
Terminal Services in Admin-Mode
Tested also on Compaq Proliant DL380G2 P4, 4GB RAM, running Win 2K, SP 3
Terminal Services in Admin-Mode
