Hi, people.

Chatter on the 8.01 patch issues has died down. Is the basic conclusion
that the patch is fine, and that the issues that many people reported were
all isolated to their individual installations (how the app is configured
at their site)?

Thank you.......

What OS are you running?

Note that the Hotfix contains just two files:

1) snmpgrph.exe
2) WinEvnt.exe

There should be no impact on either wugsvc.exe or WhatsUpG.exe.

FYI - these comments are absolutely useless to me. Anyone have anything
useful to add?

Well *somebody* has to be first. It's hopefully somebody doing it in the
test environment though and not their production environment. :)

Yes, never be the first to apply a patch!

              Please respond to WhatsUp_Forum

After applying this patch the Whatsup service will not cleanly stop.
When I try stop the service it times out and the service show the status
as "Stopping". The service was starting/stopping just fine before the
patch.

Anyone any ideas?

 Hi Gang,

Just a quick note to let you know that the patch that fixes those pesky
WhatsUp Gold 8.x memory leaks is now available for general distribution.

 Here's what the patch does--

 * Fixes Buffer overrun in SNMPGrph.exe
 * Fixes a memory leak that occurred during polling
(SNMPGrph.exe)
 * Fixes a memory leak when monitoring Windows Events
(WinEvnt.exe)

 Here's where you get it--
