I have a way use What's Up Gold, easily, to monitor sites that have re-directs, which
would normally cause the content scan to fail, and monitor ssl sites for content,
using a small programming language called Rebol.

Go to www.rebol.com and see how small (700k), but yet how powerfull this programming
language is. The Rebol community is pretty large, so there are many scripts out there
for a lot of uses, but none specific to What's Up Gold, yet. Once someone has said
they have taken the time to do that, or just read about it, I will take the time to
post an awesome interim solution the What's Up community has been awaiting.

The completed script is around 10 lines or less. You will be amazed on how much such
a small programming language can do.

At least try it on a development box. I have mentioned Rebol over time in the forum.
I am pushing this so hard because once the What's Up community starts using it, we as
a communitiy will find even greater uses and someone will design scripts that will
solve other peoples issues and save us all time and effort without installing large
programming language like Perl, and without writing nearly as much code.

                Virgil,

That only checks port availability. A 404 error would show as up.
HTTPS content scan is what we are all clamoring for.

HTTPS is a standard TCP service running on port 443 - you
shouldn't need a separate plugin to monitor it. Just create a custom TCP/IP service
and set the port to 443. It should work fine.

                        - virgil

[WhatsUp Forum] Plugin for HTTPS

I know many have asked and I've tried creating a VB plug-in
that would permit HTTPS monitoring without much luck. A while back an individual was
able to create a VB plug-in (the first in history) and provided the source code. I
didn't have much luck with it either as I wasn't even able to get the compiled version
installed correctly on a couple of systems to reverse engineer and tweak. Mostly due
to available time.

Does anyone know of a 3rd party plug-in (somewhat highly
configurable) or otherwise that would monitor HTTPS sites? Would someone with
knowledge be willing to create one as a project for a fee?
