Hi,
I've just moved our WUG8 installation over to XML
maps, so that we can do reporting and bulk modifications of map properties. This
would be made a lot easier if there was an XML schema for the map files - does
such a thing exist? I found this post from back
in November 2001 that suggests it should exist: http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg01327.html
Above and beyond that, where do the unique IDs in
the maps come from? and is it possible to add a device purely from the XML,
outside of Whats Up? And where in a Subnet's XML does it tell you which map to
load when you drill down into that subnet? There seem to be links up to parents,
but not down to the children...
Sorry for the pile of questions, but I'm keen
to be able to manage our monitoring a bit better than we currently do, and the
manual appears to gloss over the more technical bits. Thanks in advance for any
light anyone can shed!
Best Regards,
Howard Jones
