I concur Robert, Imagine being a company that has 1,0000's of devices.
Not so much of an upgrade at all - We have been using WUG for the past 4
years and to have recreate every single thing to get me back to where we
are with our previous version is just not viable.

There is even some talk of dropping the product all together, which is
really dissapointing as it is clearly one of, if not the best network
monitoring tool around.

I am in the same position. The need to modify each individual device is
not appealing when you have over 100+ devices in a map with different
alert addresses. I am holding off the upgrade also. This is very
disappointing that a very big and required feature was left out.

Thanx for that - WUG Pro implementation is on hold at the moment due to
requirement to recreate all maps, devices, alerts , custom services and
recurring notifications. Not such a straight upgrade as was first
thought.

Gary,

Both should run on the same platform without any issues. Simply change
the listening port for either WhatsUp Gold or WhatsUp Professional to
another port number (i.e., 8080).

I thought the same thing - I installed WUG Pro but then wanted to still
use WUG Gold but every time I opened the browser, the new version login
screen appeared.

You have to stop the Ipswitch WhatsUp Engine service to stop the
webserver then you can restart the previous version WUG Service and keep
using the previous version of WUG.

First I thought someone said that the new WUG uses IIS?

But I can turn off all the IIS services and the WUG web server still
runs.

Second. I created a device. Then I created a group. I moved the device
into the group.

In the list view it shows the device under the group. But the map view
still shows the device and view at the same level??

Thanks,jb
