Don't map the database drive. WUP does use a SQL database and the .mdb file is NOT an Access compatible one. If you want to access the content of the database, use either the client tools of SQL server - Enterprise Manager - or use one of the free SQL tools on the web. You can also attach a SQL database within Access. In either way, communication is handled via OLDB and/or ODBC.
Hope this explains. Hi there, once upon a time... maps were stored in a ini-file and a magic thing like notepad were able to change a lot of data with a few clicks... you remeber? I?m not a DBA, so a simple question: Is there a HOWTO for the WUP database? How to connect from a workstation with Access? How to backup the database? (with osql.exe?) And how to restore the database after the disaster? Uwe Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
