I like the paper manuals because the yellow hi-liter doesn't work well on the monitor. White out doesn't work well either.

I, for one, prefer manuals so I can read study away from the desk and WiFi.

There is no printed User's Guide at this time. Everything that was in the
User's Guide was migrated to the Online Help. As Professional is a new
product, the Online Help was 90% written from scratch, and not from the
standpoint of what is different between Gold and Professional. There are a
few topics that lay out the differences, but there is no matrix that maps
what was in Gold to what feature in Professional handles that functionality.
Since release, I do see the need for this, and will work on it for the
Solutions Guide.

For How Tos, look in the Online Help under the functional area of the
application. If you see holes in the coverage, you are welcome to email me
directly with what you feel is missing.

In the meantime, remember that Active Monitors = Monitors and Services,
Passive Monitors = Events, Device Groups = Maps, and Actions =
Notifications.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Need "What's Up Pro" User Manual

I haven't been up on the site in the last week or so- is there a user manual for WUP in PDF format like what existed with WUG that can be D/L'd?

What I've experienced so far in attempting to use the eval version is a
bit frustrating trying to figure out why some of the services like
TELNET that were checked under WUGv8.x successfully are failing their
checks under WUP and sending out alerts to our end users. The last I
checked, the online manual is seriously lacking in the "how to"
department and I need all the help I can get without having to fumble
thru the entire app trying to figure out what is configured where- some
sort of a quick reference chart indicating where each feature is
configured in both versions would be extremely helpful and allow a
smoother transition to a new monitoring system...

Still getting used to the new interface but am impressed with what I
see so far (I really like the ability to set inter-map dependencies!)
