I just set up my SMS to Verizon with both WUG and WUP.

I used the information at www.vtext.com/customer_site/jsp/aboutservice.jsp

It worked without any issues. Just make sure you set your modem settings to 300 baud rate and that I have the correct serial port defined

I use SMS alerts to my Verizon phone.  I had the same issue when I first began using WUG.  Here are my WUG SMS settings that work for me quite reliably.

# to dial:  1-866-823-0501
SMS Script:  _Default Tap
Baud Rate:  300
Data Bits:  7
Parity:  Even
Stop Bits:  1

Hope it works for you.  Note that this is for What's Up GOLD, not the new What's Up PRO.

This site has the number at verizon that the SMS settings should call
for modem access

http://www.notepage.net/tap-phone-numbers-u.htm

Doesnt have modem settings but suggest you try some of the options as
seen on other providers

sms-script - you may have to make a custom one of the any of the
supplied ones do not work they are in
drive:\install_location\notifications\sms

Hello Latricia,

The easiest way to have messages sent to your cell phone is to email a

specific address that represents your phone. Many cell phone carriers
provide this capability as part of their service. So for example,
Whatsup would email [EMAIL PROTECTED]
<mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and you would receive the message

as a text message. You would need to check with your cell phone
carrier to see what the exact email address is.

The main problem with this method is that it requires for your network

to be in a healthy state in order to work. So if you wanted a message
if your email server went down, then you obviously could not use the
down email server to transmit the message. There is a
notification/action shipped with Whatsup called 'SMS' that is used for

this problem. Many cell phone carriers provide modem dialup numbers to

relay text. The plug-in does require a modem and you would need to
contact Verizon to see if they offer this.

WhatsUp would dial verizon using the modem, transmit the message to
their server using a specific protocol (usually called TAP) and then
verizon would send the message to its broadcasting network.

I hope this helps,

    Hello everyone,

Is there a way to setup WUG 8 to send notification to my cell
instead of my beeper. (ie text messaging).
