I have that part correct. when I place the number of my cell phone, do I just put the number or the email address?  I've tried both..it's still not working..... So if you wanted a message if your email server went down, then you obviously could not use the down email server to transmit the message. There is a notification/action shipped with Whatsup called 'SMS' that is used for this problem. Many cell phone carriers provide modem dialup numbers to relay text. The plug-in does require a modem and you would need to contact Verizon to see if they offer this. WhatsUp would dial verizon using the modem, transmit the message to their server using a specific protocol (usually called TAP) and then verizon would send the message to its broadcasting network.
