Do you have the option of making an “access list” entry on your router?  You could deny users that way.

 

Also, If you want to know who is using the Internet or if those specific users are utilizing the internet connection, you might want to consider this free NetFlow Analyzer that integrates with WhatsUp:

I was asked if we had the ability to block a small amount of users from accessing the internet while retaining web access to our internal web apps in our local lan.

 

We run a 70+ campus network that is entirely switched except for a single router. Though we have evaluated some enterprise class products like Websense that would handle this with ease, I have never looked at a small solution just for a couple users in one department.

 

Do any of you have any recommendations of products or configurations you would share with me?
