yes this might ben an inconvinience for the jmx project- but that is unrelated. either solve it there or leave it as is.
No, the jmx project *exposes* the fact that having the same(?) settings in multiple places is confusing. And as for newbies... it's only actually helping if they find out one of the settings, and never see the other one. If they see both, they'll probably think of a bug as I did, as we don't expect them to know about the implementation detail that all those settings actually point to the same object. It's just the same kind of 'easy for dummies' thinking that led to things like RequiredTextField etc. Eelco
