email would not be an on-wiki communication, therefor it is allowed to be
private and you know that wasn't what kww said.

It also increase the likelihood of people abusing the feature to harass people
by intentionally thanking and reverting multiple edits and offering the
harassed no way of substantiating the claim and defending themselves.

I see both side of the argument.  What if.... We try and work out a middle
ground that will address both concerns.  By this I mean add the revision link
to be only capable of being seen by people with a certain flag.  I would think
that it would be appropriate for the following groups to have the flag in this
order of importance overseers, bureaucrats, administrators, and possibly
reviewers.  Doable?
