I disagree fundamentally with Aryeh; metadata should be provided as matter of
course, so that it's there when others look for it. 

We shouldn't wait to be asked for two reasons - many potential users of it will
not ask, they'll simply move on; and if they do ask, how long will it take us
to implement it?

In any case the question is moot, because there are already services wanting to
use it, and finding us lacking in not having it:
