The only question is how many resources people are willing to spend. In a worst-case scenario it might take months and a complete rewrite, but it's doable. At this point my guess on how many resources this will require is at good as yours. The discussions above suggest that the biggest issue with the current code is that it is not in a Git repository, but stuck on some wiki pages <https://test.wikidata.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Guidedtour-lib.js>. I suggest to make it an actual MediaWiki extension and continue from there. But again, how many resources are available for such a project?
