  Thank you, @addshore!

operation of a wikibase, but perhaps we need to make the last step here
(resetting the timestamp) more resilient, and perhaps the default behaviour
when using an empty wikibase a bit better (the ability to reset was added in
T197658 <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T197658>).

  That would be great!

  It seems the main thing in this issue is using a proper option `--start DATE
--init` (as by @addshore in T186161#6922518
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T186161#6922518>) or `-s DATE` (as by
@Louperivois in T186161#6684236
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T186161#6684236>) with 'runUpdate.sh'.
Though I am still curious why does the place, where I set a time zone in
LocalSettings.php.template, have an effect on the updater as I mentioned above.

  Just a minor comment: may be `docker exec demo-wdqs bash` could be changed to
a more common `docker exec wikibase_wdqs_1 bash` at
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikibase/FAQ#Why_doesn't_the_query_service_update?
