Just to note that the proposed recommended user behaviour has not yet been implemented: - GIVEN an Item - AND a page on the client that is a redirect - WHEN adding the page as a sitelink to the Item - AND adding a redirect badge in the same edit - THEN the sitelink and associated badge are stored (even if the redirect target is already used in another Item) Instead the user is currently thrown the following warning message: - Could not save due to an error. - The save has failed. - Site link enwiki:.... is already used by item Q..... . Perhaps the items should be merged. Ask at d:Wikidata:Interwiki conflicts if you believe that they should not be merged. After all this time, it would be really good to fix this. Can I also suggest a slight modification to the first case: that if the editor is trying to the above, but has not added the "intentional redirect" badge in the same edit, that they should be prompted to do so, when the edit is rejected.
