Hi Kathy,

Apology for the delay in response - I've been travelling and had a few
issues with my notebook playing up while away - and have not been able
to connect.

I've taken a peek at the link you provided and it would be great if we
could launch a project on WikiEducator adding value to these
materials. Fortunately, it is possible for the original copyright
holders of these resources to release the materials under a different
license.

The issue is not so much a question of version 2.0 versus version 3.0
of the CC license - but rather the problems associated with the NC
restriction. The NC restriction is problematic and WikiEducator's
committment to the free cultural works definition means that we cannot
use materials that use the NC restriction.

The share-alike provision, in our view, is a more effective mechanism
to avoid the risks of commercial exploitation of free content
resources. You might want to read the following essay on why not to
use the NC restriction:

Also, WikiEducator's tutorial on free content is also worth a read:

Kathy - I would be more than happy to arrange a teleconference with
you and the project leaders to discuss alternatives for re-licensing
these resources for use on WikiEducator.

Let me know if you're interested in pursuing this further.

Cheers
Wayne
