Leigh Good idea for a donations widget -- hold onto that thought for a moment.
When it comes to the design of a logo -- I suspect that many WikiEducators will be able to come up with good ideas for our visual identity -- but may not have the graphic design skills to express the ideas visually. So perhaps the best way to do this would be to invite the community to write up their ideas and if they can, attempt to create a graphic (not necessarily a professional graphic.) We should invite discussion and feedback on the different ideas and then have a voting mechanism for the top 3 ideas. In this model the prize is community kudos. Once we have the top 3 ideas -- we could commission a graphic designer (assuming we have the funds) to develop concepts of the best ideas. Then final voting mechanism to choose the winning logo. One of the advantages of WE becoming independent would be the ability to set up a trust fund account and a donations widget. As an international agency -- we don't have the mechanisms to do this. Great idea re the donations widget -- although we'll need to be patient.
