Cooperation in class and online includes project-based learning. In
the project everyone is responsible to contribute - online it's
actually easier to track the group interaction that in class since the
are using a discussion forum to plan and develop the project.
Projects may be a presentation of concepts in an assigned reading, or
a digital story of examples of concepts. Another technique is a
modified virtual literature circle with assigned roles to approach
reading a text. Also worked very well and allowed for sustained
interaction between the students giving them common materials to
discuss and a structure for the discussion.
