Hi Chris,

CC-BY-SA was the right decision for the time --- we had the advantage of
starting WE a little later than Wikipedia. We also support the CC-BY
license in respect for freedom of choice under licenses which meet the
requirements of the free cultural works definition.

We should also pay due respect to the Free Software Foundation who in the
spirit of the free culture movement supported a change in the GFDL which
made this migration possible.

(Refer to the Relicensing section under the GFDL (
http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html ) -- this is not a blanket provision
and any qualifiying Massive Multiauthor Collaboration Site (MMC) wishing to
relicense under a CC-BY-SA license would need to do so before 1 August
2009.)

Cheers
Wayne
