I wish to thank those who have been working to find the solutions to those
problems.

I am using an HP computer, with a Vista operating platform These problems
did not appear when I changed from my old computer, with an NT platform to
my current computer.

I am using Safari as my main browser, but have IE, Netscape and Firefox
installed so I can test out pages in my Community Empowerment site, because
they show some things a little differently. The new minor problems I
described appear with whatever browser Use.

I clean my cache daily.

I was using imagem on the Spanish and Portuguese pages, but the problem
appeared with them, and I was testing it with image to see if that worked,
for it worked with some other images (jpg not svg).

At the bottoms of the pages, I had the tables with links to my volunteers
(and to Gladys and Jibril) long before these two minor problems appeared.
Taking them out does not fix the problem.

You will notice that I have a Romanian volunteer who is eager to work on
this stuff, and there is no Romanian WikiEd per se. I made a URL with ro
instead of www, and it is now a pseudo WikiEd site.

I sent my password to Wayne with the idea that he could sign in as me and
see if he gets the same effect.

I am not especially stressed out with these two problems, but it would be
nice if they could be fixed. I think it is quite funny that I am a sort of
Guinea pig, a non computer specialist, because I can get problems that may
appear as more computer operators who are not computer mechanics, add
educational resources.

Cheers,

Phil

Hi Phil,

Not sure that I have a solution for your problem yet -- but this information
will get us closer to the solution :-)

First off, I took a look at all the pages in the different languages and the
flag images displayed fine on my machine. (I'm using Ubuntu GNU/Linux as my
operating system with Firefox as my browser)

So this might be a problem with the cross-browser compatibility, bugs with
copying and/or translating the Infobox_personal template in the different
language installations etc. To narrow our search:

  - What operating system do you use (Microsoft, Mackintosh or GNU/Linux)?
  - What is your default browser (IE, Firefox, Safari etc.)?

Have you tried clearing the cache of your browser -- press <Ctrl> <Shift>
and click on the refresh link on your browser to see if this fixes the
problem -- may not work, but will get us closer to the solution.

WE don't have too many users that are editing across multiple language
instalations - so we value your feedback and queries on the problems you're
experiencing working across our different language installs :-).

Cheers
Wayne

Phil,

I /can/ tell you that you need to close off the table you start for your
links to the other language user pages. I'm not sure why that would
have the effect you're describing, but it would definitely cause issues.

As far as the flag not showing up, on the Spanish page, you use
[[Image:...]] instead of [[Imagen:...]], and it's the same on the
Portuguese page. It works for me, but try changing it to the localised
namespace and see what happens? I'm also wondering if something is
causing issues with being able to view SVG files. It's a fairly new
standard, and however wonderful they are, I don't think IE supports it
very well. I don't keep up with that sort of thing, so I couldn't say
for sure. What browser are you using?
