Hi Phil,

As you say, we do have brilliant Learning4Content tutorials 1-10 which teach
how to use wiki technology, plus a few more on other important subjects such as
the use of Kaltura (video editing) for instance, and how to create a learning
resource and others etc that are not taught in the bottom line course but are
available for self learning.

Awareness of copyright options is something that is important to our work in
OER development and while there is information, there is no tutorial that
teaches us the meaning of what each license actually means.

Copyrights are a large topic and it is important to know how to interpret and
apply them correctly in your OER work.

Cheers,

Patricia

Subject: [WE Teacher Collaboration] Re: Should we develop an additional
tutorial to the Learning4Content tutorials for the purpose of teaching
Copyrights

I like the idea of a set of tutorials, and that they can each be taken at any
time, maybe focusing on two or three topics each.

The topic of copyrights can be included on one of them, along with a few
related topics, such as various ways to collaborate, and when to leave
someone's work untouched.

Unlike the introductory tutorials, which are excellent as they are, these
proposed secondary tutorials may have fewer facilitators, and those
facilitators be responsible for topics that particularly interest them.

Dear Friends,

I had a few recent discussions regarding the need to inform about copyrights
and I was wondering if it was a good idea to expand the WikiEducator
Learning4Content Tutorials and add a ‘’Copyright’ Tutorials that addresses the
need for more information, options and enhances open questions of how deal with
certain scenarios that are being brought forward.

Some information on WE can be found here, but I think it is time that we
formally developed a tutorial that works to educate about options. What do you
think?:
