Hi Leo, I'll need to look research a little further on the"anti-spam" button -- I haven't encountered this when using English with the Rich Editor.
It's difficult to calculate a direct cost for installing the rich text editor as this is covered as part of our general support and maintenance costs for the WikiEducator and OER Foundation projects. While the costs of installing a single instance of the Rich Editor are not much, the costs of running a project the size of WikiEducator are in the range of US$350,000 per annum. This covers operational costs for the servers, salaries of two full time staff, honorarium for training facilitators to provide free training for educators etc. You will find details of our budget information here: http://www.wikieducator.org/OERF:Operational_plan#Budget WE rely on income from the following sources: - International donor agencies - Voluntary Institutional memberships (different levels and categories See: http://www.wikieducator.org/OERF:Join#Table_of_OERF_membership_benefits_-_Detailed_Comparison) - Voluntary donations from the general public and corporate philanthropy. The OER Foundation is fortunate to have the full time services of a Lead Software Engineer. Jim Tittsler is the man who helps us out full time with most of our technical magic behind the scenes. However, we also have a dedicated team of technical volunteers who help out with different tasks. Then there is also the volunteer time from our community who help out with testing new technologies -- while the OER foundation does not pay for this volunteer time -- it is nonetheless a time cost. We are using the FCK Editor extension for Mediawiki which is open source software -- so we don't pay for licensing costs for this software. So the direct costs of installing the Rich Editor are not much -- however, this is not possible without the other infrastructure components and staff to support the project.
