Hi,Wayne I have been using the Vector skin as my default skin for at least the last six months and have not had any problems. I do prefer its look and feel to monobook.

The Wikimedia Foundation have conducted extensive usability research resulting in the development of the new "Vector" skin. The Vector skin has removed much of the clutter of the standard Monobook skin (the current default skin you see on WikiEducator.) You've gotta love the open source model -- together we all benefit from collaborative improvements. You can preview the new Vector skin by: * Visiting the Wikipedia website (unless you log in to Wikipedia and have another skin as your default) * Changing your preferences to use the Vector skin in WikiEducator (see below). In practice this decision will mean that the default skin will change to the Vector skin. (This will not effect the user preferences of existing users who prefer to use a different skin.) How you can help * Over the next two weeks, we request that users (especially our advanced editors) test the new Vector skin and let us know by return post to this list if you're experience any problems. Instructions for changing the skin are provided below. * We will need a little help to revise any screenshots based on the old skin. Please let me know if you can help out with changing the existing screenshots. Assuming there are no major objections or problems resulting from out test period above, I propose that we change our default skin on WikiEducator to Vector. How to change your skin and assist with testing * Login to WikiEducator * Go to "My preferences" * Click on the Skin tab * Select the "Vector" option * Click on Save. I think the new skin will have considerable benefits for newbies joining our project.
