My rhetoric for a number of years has featured our Global U (global university). That's a metaphor though, on the level of Spaceship Earth -- which is only a metaphor in the sense that humans did not architect / implement this particular "spaceship" (or "spherical campus" if you will).
It's good to have a non-institutional backdrop to establish "prior art" lest any confused person think they have a lock on the "global university" idea.
