"luck" was probably not the right word there, in this context. Someone mentioned John Travolta's son, and another public figure (David Cameron) recently had a similar tragedy befall them. The other example I've been following (someone likened it to a car crash) is Jade Goody. Lots of editing activity at those articles, but seems to turn out OK in the end.
